Heart of Research Healthcare Panel

Qiana Thompson, Health Forward CEO will moderate a panel focused on the advancements that have been made in cancer care, multi-cultural clinical trial participation and general awareness of the new innovation that is occurring. In the cancer research world, 2022 brought about some important developments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued 40 drug approvals for oncology indications, 12 of which were new, first-in-human molecules.

Thanks to the advances in cancer research and care in the past decades, in early 2022, the number of cancer survivors in the U.S. surpassed an estimated 18 million. Despite the progress we have made in detecting and treating the disease, much remains to be done to reduce the burden of preventable cancer. Attendees will hear about the disparities that continue to exist, especially within the Latino communities, and communities of color in general, and the importance of basic preventive care, and to know your numbers.
